Who shot the serif?

Have you learned something?

The definition of the word serif is;
A flare at the end of a letter terminal.

I learned that that serif in japanese is uruko, which means, fish scales.
There are lots of different kinds of serifs and 2 main kinds are adnate and abrupt. adnate serif is more organic. The abrupt serif is squarer and more rigid. I learned that words can have legs, too.
