Initial Cap- A larger decorative, Capital letter, at the beginning of text/paragraph.

Thumbnail: A quick sketch to get your thoughts out of your head and onto paper.

Concept: an idea, something formed in ones mind.

Final product: The end results of a project,
continuous tone image: An image where all variations of colors can be represented. Images that have virtually unlimited range of color or shades of grays.

resolution: Resolution is the pixel count in digital imaging. The first number is the number of pixel columns (width) and the second number is the number of pixel rows (height).
file size: Is the amount of disk space consumed by the file, or how much information is stored within the file. The larger the resolution the larger the file size and vise-versa.

target audience- who you are trying to get the message to, company/client

message- visual or signals to get another to understand without using words

specs/specifications of a project: requirements to be met or qualified to the spectator or clients approval.


dialog box (within an application): a window that appears on your screen presenting info. or requiring input.


palette (within an application): a range of colors which artist can select from


guidelines: a rule or standards set to determine a course of actions.

extensions: the amount, degree, or range something can extend to.

contextual menu: unseen menus that you have to either use a specific key or scroll over to see the menu

clipping mask: hides anything you don't want to see while giving your image a clean edge.

primary colors are red yellow and blue.

secondary colors are the 2 primary colors mixed together. orange, green and purple

tertiary colors are a primary color and a secondary color mixed together. Red-orange, yellow-orange, red-violet, blue-green, yellow-green. (note> the primary color comes first in the name.)

neutral colors are grays, blacks and browns.

hue is another name for color
ligatures: a character, letter, or type such s combing to or more letters together.

ampersand: the character/sign representing the word and. (&)

small caps: small font in all capital letters

lowercase: smaller version of upper case letters. some letters are different from they're uppercase.

uppercase: the larger letters of lowercase.
